Service Focus is a university program that connects service and learning for students during their sophomore year. As a part of Service Focus, students participate in a funded summer service internship after their first year. When students return to campus as sophomores, they take a community-engaged or -oriented course and participate in a faculty-mentored peer cohort group organized around a theme that connects to their intellectual and scholarly pursuits.
ProCES manages the curricular components of the program, advising students on courses that fulfill the Service Focus course commitment, facilitating faculty learning communities, providing support for faculty and staff cohort mentors, and offering Service Focus-eligible funded summer research internships. Courses uniquely suited to address the Service Focus course commitment are listed in the ProCES course list. Additional courses may be petitioned in to fulfill the course requirement.
