The Historical Society of Princeton engages audiences of all ages and origins in hands-on and experiential history programming. HSP preserves and interprets the area’s rich heritage, shares place-based curatorial collections, builds historical literacy, deepens understanding of current events, and enhances civic engagement and dialogue. HSP offers students opportunities to engage with the organization in several ways. Their 800 plus manuscript collections and 35,000 historic photographs are constantly being processed and digitized, and can be explored for independent work projects. The organization continues to develop its host of themed walking tours and is eager to make more of the content accessible on mobile devices. Exhibitions and special programs, such as Chasing George and HistoryFest, are continuously created and enhanced and HSP welcomes support on developing them. Finally, HSP will continue to provide professional development workshops for teachers and works to package its primary source curriculum to share with more schools.
