Founded in the early 1980s the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) provides over 5,000 free meals per week to Trenton area residents. TASK’s array of social, community, and health programs and services are designed to help its patrons live healthier lifestyles and increase their self-esteem and self-sufficiency. The board at TASK would like to do more advocacy work on hunger and adult education especially since the revised High School Equivalency test has caused a significant drop in the number of people who pass it. TASK is also trying to increase awareness of good nutrition practices and wants to help its clients understand the connections between diet and health. How can TASK help motivate clients to make positive changes and form new habits? Additionally, TASK is interested in research that shows how arts programs improve the quality of life. The organization would like to learn about best practices and about what research has been done on similar programs and what factors are measured.
